There is a critical development affecting our insurance billing services. On February 21, 2024, Change Healthcare experienced a security incident that led to the disconnection of their services from Etactics and other major clearinghouses. Change Healthcare plays a crucial role as one of the primary Gateways/Back-end Processors utilized by certain payors, through which all claims and Electronic Remittance Advices (ERAs) are routed.
As a result of this incident, some claims were held pending reconnection to Change Healthcare by Etactics, and conversely, no ERAs are currently being returned. Consequently, you may observe a slight decrease in the total insurance payments posted into our system, as our billing team must now locate the Explanation of Benefits (EOBs) and manually post payments. However, rest assured that you will continue to receive your payments directly to your designated bank account or via check as usual for the claims submitted prior to the incident and claims that were alternatively routed and processed.
