In June 2023 Nadine Brunet took the stage at the World Congress of Women Chiropractors (WCWC) at Parker University in Orlando. What follows is an edited version of her speech, published with permission.

Introduction

“My name is Nadine Brunet. I am the VP of Platinum System. Before you ask me, my French accent is from Quebec.”

On being a woman in software in the year 2000

When Nadine started in 2000, there were only a few influential women in the software and technology industry. “I was often the only woman in the room,” she said. “Sometimes I still am. The point is not to celebrate that — the point is to make sure the next woman in the room is not the only one either.”

Having served as product owner of the company’s server-based EHR system, Nadine stressed the importance of giving back. “Every chiropractor running a clinic on Platinum is a person who trusted me to build the software right. The way I honor that trust is by helping the next generation of software builders — women and men — reach the rooms I had to fight to get into.”

On Platinum 2.0

“Our principal objective with Platinum 2.0 is to facilitate the chiropractors and CAs daily operation by offering EHR and practice management software that is geared to maximize business success. Not dashboards that look good on a demo. Not features that sound clever on a sales call. Software that quietly disappears into the background so the doctor and the team can do their best work.”

The close

“I have watched chiropractic change for 25 years. The profession is growing. Women are leading more practices than ever. The patients are more informed, the compliance burden is heavier, and the expectations around technology are higher. Platinum exists to meet that moment. Thank you for letting me talk about it.”
